RFP for Engineering Services for the County’s storm shelter
Steele Station Road
Steele Station Road is currently scheduled to be resurfaced beginning in August. The project includes paving, shoulders, and traffic stripes. The project will begin at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and extend to the intersection of Highway 77. The work is expected to take approximately 2 months to complete and is being funded through the Metropolitan Planning Organization and local funding.
Jackson Trail – Bridge Replacement
The bridge on Jackson Trail over the Locust Fork of the Warrior River is currently scheduled to be replaced. The current bridge is posted for a three-ton weight limit. The bridge replacement is being funded utilizing Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement
Program (ATRIP) and local funds.
Bud Umphrey Road – Bridge Replacement
The bridge on Bud Umphrey Road over Bristow Creek is currently under construction, with work scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2014. The bridge replacement is being funded utilizing the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program (ATRIP) and local funds. Vehicles should currently detour utilizing Fairview Cove Road, Highway 278, Murphree Valley Road, and Bristow Cove Road.
Wesson Gap Road – Bridge Replacement
The bridge on Wesson Gap Road over Big Wills Creek is currently scheduled to be replaced in 2014. The current bridge was closed after a failure of the steel truss section. The bridge replacement is being funded utilizing the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program (ATRIP) and local funds.
