Current Volunteer Opportunities
- We need volunteers for our SWAT Team (Senior Workers Available Today). These volunteers help with one-time-only opportunities like special events, mass mailings, school events, helping serve food or working at a registration table.
- Even Start needs volunteers to help with children. You decide which age group to work with (infants, 1-, 2-, or 3-year-olds). Babies just need to be held, rocked or fed, the older children are being taught, so you would be a teacher’s aide.
- Head Start needs volunteers to be greeters. Visitors to the building need to sign in and out, and wear a badge while there.
- Volunteers are needed with the Veteran's Affairs Administration to drive the van from the VA Clinic in Rainbow City to the VA Hospital in Birmingham. You choose how often you want to do this. It's not a hard job, but it is an all day job!
- RSVP is currently trying to help neighborhoods who want to start (or re-establish) a Neighborhood Watch type program. The Citizen Corps Council covers the Neighborhood Watch program, Citizen Emergency Response Teams, Save Our Neighborhoods program, and others.
Volunteers serve when and where they choose. The amount of time you serve is strictly up to you.
This site is updated to reflect the changing opportunities offered by Etowah County RSVP. If you don't see something you like today, please check back or stop by the office at the Etowah County Courthouse, 800 Forrest Avenue, Room 219, Gadsden, AL 35901.
